With help from local businesses, volunteers, and students, the annual Fall-O-Ween Festival hopes that third time’s the charm this Saturday in Guthrie Center.
The family-friendly event is cohosted by Main Street Guthrie Center and the Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce, and will feature several returning free events. One of which is the pumpkin walk, similar to a cake walk, but instead participants get to take home a pumpkin custom painted by the Guthrie Center High School art students. A new feature this year will be a photo booth which features a backdrop created by the Guthrie County Arts Council.
Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster says this event is just one of the ways the organization seeks to enhance the downtown area, “We’ve just been having a lot of fun with this event every year and every year we try to add a little more, a few more games, that sort of thing. And so we’re thinking this year is going to be even more successful than our past years.”
There will also be a costume contest, caramel apple nachos, hot dogs, games, prizes and more. Fall-O-Ween Festival will take place from 4-6 p.m. Saturday in the City Hall parking lot. In case of inclement weather the event will be held in the Guthrie Activity Center.
