A reminder: today is Columbus Day and some offices and businesses are closed in Jefferson.

Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post Office are closed. Library patrons are reminded that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Jefferson city staff say garbage routes will be delayed one day due to Columbus Day. Routes will return to normal schedules the following week. Residents are reminded to have garbage at curbside by 6am to ensure it is picked up.
