The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department recently completed a beautification project at one of the city parks.

Parks and Rec received a grant for five-gallons of free paint from Diamond Vogel as part of the Paint Iowa Beautiful program. The Jefferson Kiwanis Club also gave a monetary donation to paint the park’s shelter house and restrooms. The project was led by Kiwanian Vern Foje and the painting was done by Gary Goodwin of Goodwin and Sons Painting.

According to Parks and Rec, Kelso Park is used frequently for birthday parties and family picnics.
