A Fort Dodge man was recently sentenced to prison for a June 8th incident in Jefferson.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Logan Eric Warland pled guilty to two Class D Felonies for second-degree theft and third-degree burglary. Warland was sentenced to five years in prison on each of the convictions, to be served consecutively.

The charges stemmed from an incident on June 8th. The Jefferson Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle burglary in the Greene County Medical Center parking lot. Video surveillance showed Warland punching out a window and stealing items from a vehicle. The video also showed Warland taking items from another unsecured vehicle.

Warland was also ordered to pay $125 law enforcement surcharge and victim restitution at a later date. All other fines and surcharges were dismissed. Additionally, court documents show a felony for a habitual offender for burglary and misdemeanors for fifth-degree theft were dismissed.
