The Wildcats will be looking to pounce the Chargers as the West Central Valley School District celebrates homecoming this week.
The week started with coronation Sunday night, as Kade Kunkle and Sara Beane were named king and queen. The court also included Justin Clarke, Louden Foster, Ismael Leyva, Gage Perrigo, Kaila Findley, Beth Lincoln, Meredith Marks, and Taylor Vigon. Junior and Student Council President Cael Hansen is involved with the planning for homecoming and says he agrees with fellow student council member and senior Paige Donnelly about the most exciting time of the week, “I think my favorite part is Friday as well because everyone’s decked out in Wildcat gear and then at the game we have marching (band) playing at halftime, the dance team is performing at halftime, everybody’s all having a good time, and then the dance is Saturday so it’s just a fun week for us.”
There is no school Monday, and the rest of the week will feature USA, western, “Lights, Camera, Action” and Wildcat spirit as the dress-up days. There will be a parade starting at Stuart Elementary and going downtown on 2nd Street to the high school at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by powderpuff games and a community cookout at 6:30 p.m. Then on Friday is the football game versus Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center at 7 p.m., and a dance from 8-10:30 p.m. Saturday.
