Greene County takes it top five ranking and 6-0 season record to Atlantic on Friday night for a Class 2A District 9 football game against the Trojans (2-4, 1-1) for Atlantic’s Homecoming game.

Running back Colby Kafer is on the cusp of his first 1,000 yards rushing campaign. The senior has 966 yards on the ground through six games and is averaging 8.4 yards per carry. He’s scored 10 touchdowns. Kafer ran for 161 yards last week in the 45-22 Homecoming win over Kuemper Catholic in Jefferson, and 161 is exactly the number of yards per game he’s averaged this season.

Kafer and his teammates will find out today where they rank in the first release of the RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. The RPI is used to determine playoff qualifers who are not automatic qualifiers, as well as to determine seedings for the 16 playoff teams in each class.

Friday’s game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage starting at 6 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.
