This week in Greene County High School sports shows two volleyball matches, two cross-country meets and a football game on the road.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball team has a match at home tomorrow night in the middle school gym in Jefferson with Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opponent Roland-Story (Story City). The Rams are 11-15 overall and 2-3 in the conference. The Norsemen are 17-5 and 2-2 in HOIAC action. On Thursday, the Rams travel to Nevada for another conference match.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country girls and boys go to Lake City tomorrow for the South Central Calhoun Invitational. The Rams have had three of the last four scheduled meets postponed by weather. Greene County runs in Des Moines on Thursday at Saydel High School.

Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams go southwest to Atlantic on Friday for the Trojans Homecoming football game. Greene County is 6-0 overall and top five rated in Class 2A. Atlantic is 2-4 overall and 1-1 in District 9. Friday’s game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage starting at 6 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.
