National Fire Prevention Week is coming up, along with a local tradition in Stuart.
The Stuart Fire Department is hosting their annual french toast supper fundraiser on Saturday October 12th. This is the department’s main fundraiser, with a freewill donation accepted to support ongoing equipment purchases and expenses to help serve the community. Fire Chief Mike Renslow hopes everyone will show their support, “Come and socialize with your neighbors or local firemen, see what we do, see what their money goes towards. And then our Stuart Fire Auxiliary also has an auction that night. I believe this year one of the things they’re auctioning off is a quarter of a beef donated from a local farmer.”
The auxiliary’s raffle includes processing and packaging done according to the winner’s preference. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at City Hall or at the supper. French toast, sausage, eggs, and more will be served from 5:30-8 p.m.
