Greene County improved to 6-0 on the high school football season by winning its Homecoming football game on Friday night over Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). Coach Caden Duncan’s team won 45-22 to go to 2-0 in Class 2A District 9 while the Knight have lost five straight and fall to 1-5, 0-2.

It was a big evening for the offenses as Greene County rolled up 578 total yards and Kuemper Catholic had 313. Ram quarterback Brent Riley had 388 passing yards on 19 of 30 with no interceptions and he threw for five touchdowns. Carter Morton had eight receptions, three for TDs, and a total of 201 receiving yards. Nick Breon and Will Hansen also caught touchdown passes.

The running game contributed as well with Colby Kafer running for 161 yards on 28 carries and he had a TD run of two yards.

Kuemper ran the ball for just 30 yards on 22 attempts, but had 283 passing yards, much of it in the fourth quarter after the Rams led 38-6. Greene County held a 28-6 halftime lead.

The Rams were penalized 13 times for 143 yards, both season highs.
