The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Chargers fed off the sun’s rays Friday for their homecoming festivities.
The high school and middle school marching bands, homecoming court, and many of the district’s students walked the streets of downtown Guthrie Center Friday afternoon for a parade, and then the community packed the high school gym for the pep rally and coronation. The 2018 ACGC homecoming queen Malena Rumelhart crowned Hayden Knutter and her cousin Reagan Rumelhart as the king and queen. Reagan shares how it felt to receive her fellow students’ support, “It’s just really cool, I’m just really blessed by the whole Guthrie community and Adair community. It’s just really shocking, I guess.”
The court also included Kate Crawford, Olivia Laabs, Taylor Lemke, Mackenzie Reinhart, Kolby Jacobe, Bryce Littler, Sam Madsen and Quynton Younker. The pep rally also included presentations from the fall sports captains, performances by the marching band and drumline and from the cheerleading squad and dance team. This year’s homecoming ended with the big game against the Clarinda Cardinals, and a dance for the high school students.
