In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School volleyball team will host their annual “Dig Pink” event at their next game.
ADM will take on Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday, October 10th, and the crowd is invited to join with the participants in decking themselves out in pink to show their support for those battling cancer. As a special feature this year, there will also be a fundraiser meal and silent auction to support a young man waging his own fight against the disease. The meal consists of a beefburger, chips, pop, and dessert for $5, with all proceeds helping the family of Canyon “Moose” Hopkins. “Moose” graduated from Earlham High School, but has close ties to ADM, including his brother who teaches 3rd grade in the District.
The “Dig Pink” event will run from 5-9 p.m. at ADM High School, with the freshman and junior varsity match starting at 5:30, and varsity at 7. For more information on the event and on “MooseStrong,” click the links below to visit their respective Facebook pages.
