A Jefferson man was sentenced for allegedly stalking an individual.
According to court documents, 64-year-old Carl Hale pled guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for stalking. He had all but 46 days of his one year jail sentence suspended and will be placed on probation for two years.
The charge stems from an investigation that began on May 30th. The victim reported to the Jefferson Police Department having seen Hale at various places in Jefferson. The victim said Hale tried to make unwanted conversation and made sexual motions. The magistrate previously sentenced Hale to serve up to ten days in the Greene County Jail for two no contact order violations.
Hale must also pay over $1,000 in court costs, court-appointed attorney fees and a stalking surcharge. Additionally, a new no contact order was also put in place with the victim for five years.
