Friday, September 27th

6:22am: Eldon Cunningham reported a female wrapped in a blanket walking south in the 1300 Block of South Elm Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she was fine and walking to Yale.

12:13pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of South Vine Street.

1:37pm: Caitlyn Day reported being Harassed on Face Book.

1:57pm: Officers began an investigation with DHS to look into the welfare of a 14-year-old child in Jefferson.

2:16pm: Bruce Banister requested an officer to contact a neighbor about using his private driveway at 704 West Sunset Road. The officer conveyed Banister’s wishes to the neighbor.

6:22pm: An officer responded to 400 North Elm Street for an Alarm Activation. The officer found the business to be secure.

Saturday, September 28th

7:48am: Brandi Hicks spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring at 604 Rushview Drive.

8:43am: Carol Custer reported a dead deer in the roadway in the 1700 Block of South Elm Street. The officer removed the carcass from the roadway and advised the DOT so it can be removed from the area.

11:45am: Shanda Hoyle reported a vehicle driving Carelessly on 235th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

12:46pm: Oly’s Corner reported a Gas Drive Off in the amount of $61.00 at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer will watch any available video and investigate the reported event.

1:36pm: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

4:18pm: Jon Forkner requested an officer to locate a male subject in Jefferson and request he call Forkner. The officer did not locate the male in Jefferson.

4:51pm: As requested by a DNR Officer, an officer removed an injured squirrel from the yard at 901 West Washington Street.

9:22pm: Brenda Batschelet reported hearing an Audible Alarm in a neighbor’s apartment at 1000 West Adams Street. The officer contacted the neighbor, who advised she was fine.

9:50pm: Anne Butler reported catching an individual looking into her vehicle at 610 South Locust Street. The subject ran away when confronted by Butler. Nothing was reported missing.

11:25pm: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle who had a front lamp out in the 100 Block of East Washington Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Bruce Kevin Binkley, 58 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious and Improper Use of Driving Lights – Simple.”

Sunday, September 29th

1:52am: A caller advised of Loud Music coming from the garage at 505 North Chestnut Street. The officer spoke to the group and advised them to quiet down for the rest of the evening.

3:14am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 1805 North Elm Street. The officer found the business to be secure.

12:16pm: Scott Guttenfelder reported a LOST/Stolen Handgun from 309 Rushview Drive. The officer is investigating.

2:31pm: Charlie Paniagua spoke to an officer about a Civil Property Issue occurring at 402 North Chestnut Street.

2:37pm: Casey’s General Store reported a middle-aged male came into the business at 508 North Elm Street and advised the clerk he worked for the Casey’s Cooperation. He advised the clerk he was conducting a test of their equipment and made 10 purchases of cigarettes. Each time he paid for the cigarettes with a Debit Card and requested $20.00 in cash back. The clerk found this suspicious. The officer has identified the male and is investigating in anything illegal

occurred.

5:35pm: Juan Guzman reported noticing an apartment door had been damaged at 1216 Westwood Drive. The renter is currently incarcerated in another county. The door appeared to have been kicked in, causing damage to it. The officer is waiting to her back from the renter about the issue.

8:26pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of South Elm Street resulted in Jessica Johnston of Des Moines being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

Monday, September 30th

12:08am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The officer found the Fast & Fresh/HyVee Gas to be secure.

1:10am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 800 Block of West Lincoln Way Street for, “Truck/RV/Trailer Parking.”

9:05am: Connie Ross advised she had captured a stray dog at 615 South Olive Street. The animal placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

1:00pm: Charlie Paniagua spoke to an officer concerning a Civil Issue concerning two cats.

3:05pm: Wells Fargo reported a customer had called the bank advising her son was taking items from her apartment. They wanted to share the information with law enforcement.

3:55pm: An officer was requested to meet with a juvenile male at 203 West Harrison Street. The juvenile reported another male juvenile had pushed him off of his bike and then rode away with it. The officer is investigating.

4:52pm: Teresa Gaver requested an officer at 1000 West Adams Street, #6. She believed she was in danger. The officer spoke with her and convinced her she was safe in her apartment.

7:57pm: Jessica Rudolph reported a Careless Driver in the 400 Block of East Russell Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle in the area.

10:15pm: An officer investigated a Traffic Accident in the 300 Block of West Sunset Road. A 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, owned by Ronald Tasler and operated by Ashlee Harmeyer, both of Jefferson was eastbound on Sunset. A 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, owned by Ryan Tasler and operated by Garrett Tasler, both of Jefferson struck the rear of the Harmeyer vehicle. The Harmeyer vehicle was not damaged. The Tasler vehicle suffered a reported $5000.00 in front end damages. Garrett Tasler was cited for, “Fail to Stop in Assured Clear Distance Ahead.”

10:47pm: Tina Nelson reported juveniles knocking on her door and running away at 201 Edgewood.

11:02pm: A male subject requested an officer at the Super 8 Motel, located at 207 Gallop

Road. He advised the officer he was hearing voices and needed help. The officer assisted in getting the male to ER for a medical evaluation by a doctor.
