It’s Chargers versus Cardinals this Friday as the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School hosts homecoming festivities.
With no school on Monday the week will last from Tuesday to Friday with Tropical, ‘Merica, Squad, and Spirit dress up days. Activities include a dodgeball tournament at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday with awards going to first place and the best team theme. The community is invited to a parade starting at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hometown Foods and ending at the Guthrie County Courthouse, where a pep rally and king and queen coronation will occur on the courthouse north lawn. In case of inclement weather the pep rally will be held in the high school gym.
Student Council Secretary Jacqueline Trujillo Garcia has been part of the event planning, and she shares what she enjoys most about homecoming, “I think (for) the week in general there’s no specific event that I’m looking forward to, but just the week in general because we’re just doing a bunch of fun stuff together.”
The Charger football team will face off against the Clarinda Cardinals at 7 p.m. Friday, with a dance to follow in the former middle school gym.
