The Food Bank of Iowa has several upcoming stops in Dallas County for their Mobile Food Pantry, though there has been a change in venue for one of them.

The program includes monthly stops in Perry, Adel, and West Des Moines, as well as in Redfield every other month, in order to provide free food to those in need. However, the Perry location for this Saturday has been changed to Perry Elementary, though still from 9-10:30 a.m. Typically the mobile food pantry rotates monthly between Dallas County Hospital and Crossroads Church, but the church was unable to accommodate it this month or in November. As a result, this Saturday’s and the visit scheduled for November 16th will be held at the school. Next month’s stop will be at the hospital on Wednesday, October 23rd from 4-6 p.m.

Other October pantry locations include: Redfield City Hall on Wednesday the 2nd from 5-7 p.m.; Crossroads Church in West Des Moines on Monday the 21st from 5-6:30 p.m.; and New Hope Youth Center in Adel on Monday the 28th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Food Bank will send trucks delivering customized loads of food to each location, which include produce, meat, bread, and non-perishable items. The distribution system is set up like a farmers market, with local volunteers lending aid. No identification is required to receive food from the Mobile Food Pantry, and all items are first-come, first-served.
