Next week is Greene County High School Homecoming and there are several activities planned.

The festivities kick-off on Sunday with the powder puff football game between the freshmen and junior girls and the sophomore and senior girls. The public is invited to watch the game with a non-perishable food item as the admission fee, with all donations going to the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC). The game will be played at Linduska Field near the high school, starting at 4pm.

Monday through Friday are different dress-up theme days. Monday is pajama day, Tuesday is throwback day, Wednesday is meme/character day, Thursday is senior citizen day and Friday is Ram spirit day. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the dress-up theme days. Student Council President Sophia Ausberger explains how the community can get involved.

“They need to post their pictures in the outfits to Greene County Activities Booster Club Facebook page. And then those pictures obviously will get judged and then winners for best costume will be announced on Friday.”

There are other festivities that the community can enjoy during Homecoming Week. There is a Glow Run 2K on Monday starting at 8pm from the high school parking lot. Participants can purchase glow sticks for $1. The parade will be on Friday starting at 2pm from the high school and will end at the Greene County Courthouse. Following the parade will be the homecoming king and queen coronation ceremony on the south side of the courthouse. Then everyone is invited to cheer on the Rams at the home football game against Kuemper Catholic at 7pm.
