Greene County fell to 9-12 overall and 1-3 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball on Tuesday night in Alleman with a pair of losses. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s team fell in HOIAC play to North Polk 18-25, 15-25, 16-25, and in a best two of three non-conference match vs. Winterset by scores of 24-26 and 17-25.
Brianna Osterson had 12 kills on the night with six from Natalie Heupel and four for Sophia Havens. The coach said serving was fantastic again, which has been a team strength. Paige Heaning was 18 of 18, Katrina Heupel 17 of 17, Aubrey Heupel 15 for 15, Osterson went 14 of 14, Sophia Havens was 11 of 12, and Harleigh Weir had a seven of eight night at the service line. Heaning, the Libero, was credited with 11 digs.
“It was good to have so many strong volleys against two good teams. But we have to work on consistency. I see improvement and we will carry that into our upcoming competitions,” the coach said.
