3:07am: An officer located an open door at 1000 North Cedar Street.
9:16am: Shiena Hadley reported a possible hit and run accident that may have occurred at one of two locations in Jefferson. The damage caused $50 to the front end of a blue 2000 Chevy S-10 pickup. An officer is investigating.
10:01am: An officer responded to 806 West Washington Street for a 14-year-old male who refused to go to school.
2:49pm: An officer responded to Elm Street and West Lincoln Way for a vehicle that was broken down.
5:41pm: An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a patient in the 500 block of South Vine Street.
Thursday, September 19th
12:01am: Ryan Patterson requested a welfare check on his daughter at 505 North Grimmell Road.
6:57am: An officer began investigating a Violation of a No Contact Order between Ryan Patters (38) and Nicole Borkowski (34). As a result, Arrest Warrants have been requested for both for Violation of a No Contact Order – Simple Misdemeanor.
10:17am: An officer assisted DHS with an investigation at 505 North Grimmell Road.
10:40am: An officer responded to the 200 block of North Grimmell Road for a suspicious male being disorderly.
11:07am: An officer responded to the Greene County Elementary School (401 East Russell Street) to take a report of a theft that had occurred. A student at the school had been stealing gum from a teacher’s purse on several different occasions. The student was referred to the Juvenile Court Officer.
11:18am: Staff at the University of Iowa Hospital requested a welfare check on a juvenile at 505 North Grimmell Road.
11:55am: Jefferson City Hall reported a Theft of Services from (3) properties in town, 902 North Pinet Street, 1006 North Walnut Street and 702 West Mahlon Street. The city water had been turned off at the residences for non-payment but had been turned back on. An officer is investing.
12:29pm: United Health Care requested a welfare check on a male at 406 West Washington Street. The patient was found to be okay.
2:15pm: Nicole Borkowski reported damage to a bicycle at 505 North Grimmell Road. An Officer is investigating.
3:51pm: As a result of a traffic stop at the intersection of South Chestnut Street and Harding Road, Benjamin Johnston was issued a citation for Violation of Conditions of Minors School License and Excessive Speed.
7:48pm: Scott Carroll reported kids playing loud music at Russell Park (400 block of South Wilson Avenue).
8:36pm: Ryan Patterson was arrested at 505 North Grimmell Road for an outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant for Violation of a No Contact Order.
Friday, September 20th
12:43am: Stevens Recovery Services reported they were repossessing a vehicle in the 400 Block of East Lincoln Way Street.
3:31am: Perry PD requested an officer to check with a Jefferson female in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street to make sure a male has permission to operate her vehicle. The officer could not make contact with the female.
9:29am: Ben Campbell reported a stray dog at 607 Rushview Drive. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
11:15am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.
12:27pm: Guy Richardson reported an injured cat in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer took the cat to the Jefferson Vet Clinic to be euthanized.
1:36pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 900 Block of North Cedar Street.
6:04pm: An officer assisted the Jefferson Fire Department with a propane grill tank fire at 201 Briarwood Bend. No injuries or damage were reported.
6:27pm: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle at Oak and Clark Streets. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Joel Robert Simpson, 64 of Jefferson for, “OWI 3rd or Subsequent – D Felony, Driving While Suspended – Simple, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple, and Operation without Registration – Simple.”
9:32pm: An officer cited Robert Lenchanko of Jefferson with, “Littering – Simple.” The officer witnessed the violation in the 700 Block of South Walnut Street.
10:33pm: Shawn DeMoss reported a vehicle parked under the canopy on the sidewalk at the Greene County High School at 101 Ram Drive. The officer contacted the owner and had the vehicle moved.
11:25pm: A caller advised of a possible Intoxicated Driver at 606 Hwy. 30 East. The officer followed the vehicle and did not see any infractions.
Saturday, September 21st
12:35am: While conducting Business Door Checks, an officer located an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street and secured the building.
1:19am: An officer located a parked vehicle with its lights on in the Greene County High School Parking Lot at 101 Ram Drive. As the officer spoke to the three occupants, he detected the odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. A Probable Cause Search was conducted and an open container of alcohol and a bottle of alcohol in a bag were located in the rear seat floor area of the vehicle. No one would take ownership of the alcohol when asked by the officer. Two juveniles and one 18-year-old male were placed in custody for, “Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age – Simple.” The juveniles were also cited for, “Curfew Violation.”
5:39am: Dunker’s by Matt employees advised of a suspicious male in the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer spoke to the male in the area, who was doing nothing illegal.
9:09am: Sylvia McCormick spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring with a family member, who lives out of state.
11:35am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.
2:29pm: Stacy Biggart requested assistance in getting her autistic child back in her vehicle near Harrison and Walnut Streets. Biggart had gotten the child in the vehicle before the officer arrived and no longer needed assistance.
3:25pm: An officer checked on a 911 Hang Up Call from 1000 West Adams Street. The subject had accidentally called 911 and did not need assistance.
5:21pm: Oly’s Corner advised of an Accidental Gas Drive Off from 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer contacted the male subject, who returned and paid for his fuel.
6:21pm: Amanda Anderson reported a careless Driver on 220 th Street, approaching Jefferson from the west. The officer later located the vehicle parked and unoccupied at 777 Wild Rose Lane.
7:03pm: Jarrod Rumley reported a subject popping wheelies on a dirt bike near the 600 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the subject.
7:33pm: An officer was advised of two male subjects walking near Maple and Harrison Streets, passing a smoking device back and forth. The subject advised he could smell marijuana as he passed the subjects. The officer located the two subjects and spoke with them. Both admitted the cigar they were smoking contained marijuana. The officer seized the cigar for lab testing. Charges are pending the results of testing.
7:46pm: Mary Norgart reported a large fire in a yard near Cedar and Washington Streets. The officer located the small fire consisting of yard waste. All was fine.
8:42pm: Andrew Golay reported he was advised of lights going on and off at an empty residence he owns in the 700 Block of South Oak Street. Golay and the officer entered the locked residence and found everything to be fine.
9:50pm: A deputy requested an officer to assist him with an arrest at1681 Newberry Ave. The deputy handled all charges in the matter.
10:39pm: Keith Conroy reported a vehicle in the north ditch on South Grimmell Road, near Meadow Ave. The officer located the vehicle and determined the driver had lost control and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to skid off the roadway. The officer made contact with the driver at his residence. Adam Pederson of Jefferson was cited for, “Failure to Maintain Control.”
11:11pm: Chantalle Long reported juveniles ringing her doorbell and running away at 507
Hillcrest. The officer was busy with the previous entry and was unable to
respond.
Sunday, September 22nd
7:47am: Everette Beebe reported the Theft of $3.00 in quarters from his vehicle, while parked overnight at 208 North Olive Street.
1:54pm: Genesis Development workers advised of two Suspicious females in the 400 Block of West McKinley Street. The officer did not locate the subjects.
2:19pm: A Traffic Stop with a Speeding Vehicle in the 1500 Block of 235 th Street resulted in the arrest of Laurann Joyce Perry, 23 Perry for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated and Excessive Speed – Simple.”
5:22pm: Rod Eighmy reported an opossum in a window well at 1002 North Wilson Ave. The officer captured the animal and released it outside of the city.
7:30pm: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of South Vine Street resulted in Xavier Hayes of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
7:47pm: Chris Hallinan requested an officer at 403 North Pinet to remove an unwanted female from the residence. The officer arrived and learned the female was also a resident of the address and could not be forced to leave. Both subjects were advised to stay in separate rooms for the evening.
Monday, September 23rd
1:56am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop on a vehicle with a headlight out in the 600 Block of North Elm Street. During the stop, the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. The officer asked the driver to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, which he passed. He was given a verbal warning for the headlight and allowed on his way.
2:32am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave. for, “48 Hour Parking Violation.”
9:44am: An officer was dispatched to 771 Wild Rose Lane for a Fire Alarm Activation. It was a false alarm and no action was required.
10:19am: Kelsy Reed spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Child Custody Issue.
12:59pm: A caller requested a Welfare Check be completed on a pregnant female at 308 North Pinet Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she was fine and needed no assistance from law enforcement.
9:16pm: Robert Ewing reported to an officer his belief that a Pharmacy had given him different medications than he should have received. The officer advised him to return to the Pharmacy and have them verify it was the correct prescription medication.
