2019 wasn’t just the 150th anniversary of the City of Perry, it’s also the birthday of one of the City’s original churches.
To celebrate their sesquicentennial, First United Methodist Church of Perry is hosting gatherings for the whole community this weekend. On Saturday at 1:30 p.m., attendees can participate in an old-fashioned hymn sing, a bell presentation, and reminiscing. Additionally, there will be artifact displays throughout the church. On Sunday, the church will host a lunch that will include visits from past ministers, which will be held following the morning service. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased ahead of time at the church office. The public is welcome to attend both events and the worship service, and the church is located at the corner of 3rd Street and Willis Avenue.
