It’s week four of the high school football season and for Greene County and the majority of teams in Iowa, tonight means the end of the non-district portion of the schedule. The Rams host Class 3A Gilbert at Linduska Field in Jefferson.

It’s Mini-Cheerleading Night and Childhood Cancer Awareness Night. Fans are encouraged to get there early to watch the mini-cheerleaders. Fans are also encouraged to wear gold, the color of Childhood Cancer, whether it’s a Be Bold Wear Gold t-shirt from ShineOn Design in Jefferson, or another item of gold apparel. Donations of Play-Doh are also being accepted tonight at the game with all proceeds and donations going to helping children with cancer. Avril Shahan, a Greene County elementary student is tonight’s Kid Captain. She’s wrapping up treatment for leukemia and will walk out to midfield with the Ram team captains for the coin toss.

The Rams are 3-0 and ranked fifth in Class 2A. The Tigers are 2-1. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. with coverage at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
