AC/GC will face their biggest test of the young season tonight.
The Chargers will welcome in the Trojans of Tri-Center later this evening. Last season the Chargers fell just short of Tri-Center losing 14-6. With that said, we’ve seen a much different AC/GC team compared to last year. The Chargers come into the match up 3-0 fresh off a 54-0 victory of Nodaway Valley last week.
AC/GC comes in with the third highest scoring offense in Class 1A averaging 52 points a game. They’ve been led by Sophomore Gavin Cornelison and senior Colby Jacobe who are both in the top-10 in the state for rushing yards.
The Chargers will have to slow down the Trojans balanced offense who come in averaging 38 points a game. The 2-1 Trojans will be led by quarterback Bryson Freeberg who is completing 68% of his passes. On the ground, expect to hear a lot from Trevor Carlson who leads the team with 279 rushing yards and five touchdowns through the first three games.
