The West Central Valley School Board met in regular session Wednesday.

Before the regular meeting, a special meeting was held at 5:30 p.m. to hold a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual. Following that, no action was taken regarding Superintendent Lance Ridgely’s contract. Ridgely was absent at the regular meeting, which began with the Board approving out-of-state trip requests from FFA Advisor Molly Dolch to take seven students to the World Dairy Expo in Madison and to take seven students to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

Next, the Board approved personnel changes, open enrollment requests, and a student teaching agreement with Buena Vista University. The Board also approved the special education deficit allowable growth report, and approved around $14,000 in sound system improvements for the middle and high school. They also approved the purchase to replace a nutrition vehicle for $22,785. Finally, the Board tabled action on fall grounds care bids and snow bids, and directed administrators to move forward with arranging the sale of obsolete equipment.
