The promise of free coffee, breakfast, networking, and information has once again proved sufficient in gathering the Perry community early Friday morning for the monthly Chamber of Commerce Coffee event.

The host on this occasion was Perry Lutheran Homes, which opened the doors to its Willis Avenue campus to Chamber members and the public for conversation and refreshments. After attendees had a chance to talk amongst themselves and have a piece of coffee cake, they were gathered for a presentation by PLH Admission and Marketing Coordinator Alyssa Poland. She talked about the services they provide, such as the Acorns and Oaks Daycare, as well as the facility’s recent awards. She also discussed the upcoming construction, which will transition nine rooms at the Willis campus into skilled nursing suites. The former residents of those rooms are being transitioned to the Spring Valley campus. Once her presentation was done, Poland took those interested on a tour of the facility.

The Perry Chamber hosts the Coffee events the second Friday of every month, each time at a different location. The locale for the October event will be Percival Scientific, located in the Perry Industrial Park. The Chamber believes the events are a good way for members and the community to gather for networking and to learn more about what’s going on in the City.
