Drought conditions remain steady in Greene County while conditions have decreased in Dallas and Guthrie counties, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report.

Conditions are unchanged in Greene County as the northeast portion is rated as abnormally dry with the northeastern most edge rated as moderate drought. Dallas County changed from the southern portion and the northeast corner as abnormally dry last week to just the northeast corner rated as abnormally dry this week. Guthrie County changed from having majority of the county rated as abnormally dry the previous week to reporting no drought conditions this week. After a week of rainy weather, the estimated number of Iowans in drought areas decreased from 613,673 last week to 509,755 this week.
