The AC/GC football team is 3-0 following a dominant performance Friday evening. The Chargers hit the road to face off against Nodaway Valley Friday. The narrative of the evening was, “What a difference a year makes” as both AC/GC and Nodaway Valley have shown great improvements since last season. Although, AC/GC was the only team to look like it.
The Chargers defense showed great improvement beginning with their first chance forcing Nodaway Valley and they forced their top-five passing attack to punt after three plays. The AC/GC offense went to work quickly scoring a touchdown on their third straight opening possession with a three-yard touchdown run by Gavin Cornelison, the first of three touchdowns for him. Two plays later an overthrown pass from Nodaway Valley Quarterback Nathan Russel found the arms of Charlie Crawford who took it to the house from 45-yards out.
AC/GC went on to dominate the game and take home their third straight victory 54-0. The Chargers will head back to Guthrie Center to try and avenge a 14-6 loss to Tri-Center next week.
