As the forecast predicts a mostly warm and dry weekend, there are a couple of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors at Springbrook State Park.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Training Specialist Anne Riordan is hosting an evening kayaking event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. tonight. Kayaks and lifejackets will be provided, as well as instruction for newcomers. Tomorrow Riordan is hosting “Flit, Flap, Buzz,” a program focused on monarchs and other pollinators from 10 a.m.-noon. Attendees will get the chance to tag monarchs and see other butterflies, and the event will start at the campground gazebo. Both of these events are free and open to the public. For more information contact Riordan at 641-295-6028.
