The one and only home cross-country meet for the Greene County Rams was scheduled for today, but has been postponed until Oct. 17. Last year, the meet was cancelled due to flooding at Spring Lake State Park northwest of Grand Junction, where the event is held. This time it’s a combination of the rain we’ve had this week, coupled with the forecast for more rain today.

Greene County sends its volleyball team to Jewell today for the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opener vs. South Hamilton. The two teams met last Saturday in Lake City at the South Central Calhoun Invite with the Rams winning a close match, taking two of three sets. Tonight’s match is a best three of five.

Friday night, the Rams host Saydel (Des Moines) in non-district high school football at Linduska Field in Jefferson. Coach Cayden Duncan’s team is 2-0 and ranked in the top 10 of multiple polls. The Eagles are 0-2 and have been out scored 105-13.
