The Guthrie County Historical Village and Museum is celebrating the past, present, and future this Saturday with their quilt walk event.

Historical quilts from the museum’s collection, as well as those new and old provided from area residents, will be on display in all of the village’s buildings from noon to 4 p.m. Attendees can also learn more about the role quilts played in several U.S. movements in the main building where the short film “Hearts and Hands: Women, Quilts, and American Society” will be shown at the beginning of every hour. Refreshments will be served, and this is a freewill donation event. Proceeds will go towards the village’s continued restoration of the 1900 Marchant House. Volunteers are needed for the event, and those who would like to display a quilt can find more information by contacting gchv@netins.net or 641-755-2989.
