Hospitals throughout central Iowa wage a constant war with keeping up their supply of blood for transfusions, so they rely heavily on donations from the public.
With that in mind, LifeServe Blood Center urges Dallas County residents to consider giving blood this September, and they have a pair of donation opportunities coming up. Community blood drives will be held in Dexter and Perry this month, and LifeServe emphasizes that they need all blood types from eligible donors. The Dexter event will be on Monday, September 16th from 3-6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 309 Marshall Street. Following that, the Perry event will be Friday, September 27th from 2-6 p.m. at Dallas County Hospital.
LifeServe is the sole blood provider for 120 hospitals in three states, including Dallas County Hospital. They encourage volunteers to help out, emphasizing that you never know who might need your donation, be it a stranger, neighbor, or loved one.
