The rain clouds didn’t stay away but neither did classic car lovers for the final Scoop the Loop of 2019 in downtown Stuart Saturday.
Organizer Bob Cook says there were 120 vehicles registered for the free car show, “The weather cooperated well enough that people were out on the street, and most of the people stayed throughout the whole event, through our entire awards presentation. We had to go a little early on that portion but we’re happy. We had local organizations up raising money or making awareness here.”
The local organizations that participated included the Stuart Lions Club and the West Central Valley Wrestling Club. Saturday’s event wrapped up the eighth year for Scoop the Loop, and Cook comments on the season, “The whole year was a phenomenal year even though the last two we dealt with some weather. June was the biggest Scoop the Loop ever and we’ll start preparing with a few new team members for 2020.”
Cook wishes to bring in younger community members to carry on the success of the car show for decades to come, and he mentions one resident that has recently stepped up to volunteer is Austin Vanlandingham.
