AC/GC set the record books on fire with another dominating performance on the gridiron.

Since Adair Casey and Guthrie Center merged high schools, the most points they scored in a game was 38. They needed less than two quarters to top that Friday night. Following a dominant win over IKM-Manning to start the season, the Chargers opened their gates to host Woodward Academy.

The offense picked up where they left off with a four minute touchdown drive capped off with Colby Jacobe scoring on a 14-yard dash. The Charger defense came up with a fumble recovery on the Knight’s third snap and marched down the field again when Bryce Littler found paydirt from six yards out. By the time the first quarter concluded AC/GC was up 22-7. With three minutes left in the second quarter, Charlie Crawford found the endzone to officially break AC/GC’s single game scoring record. The scoring didn’t stop from there. An interception turned into another touchdown from 80-yards out courtesy of Cayden Jensen which wrapped up the first half with AC/GC leading 54-13.

The Chargers continued to find success and kept scoring. Every drive the Chargers had offensively ended in a touchdown, no punts and no turnovers. AC/GC jumped to 2-0 for the first time since the merger.

AC/GC will try to make it three in a row next week when they hit the road to face Nodaway Valley. You can hear that game live on KKRF-2 on RaccoonValleyRadio.com
