A Guthrie Center man was arrested Sunday for a felony domestic abuse assault charge.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:58 a.m. deputies were advised that 42-year-old Tony Lynn Young had struck, pulled the hair, and threatened his significant other at their residence in the 2400 block of 240th Street in Guthrie Center. A deputy responded to the home after Young left, and spoke with the victim. The victim advised that she and Young started arguing when she found out Young had taken one of her children’s birthday money. The deputy observed a mark on her forehead and an abrasion on her right forearm. Law enforcement then spoke with Young at his mother’s residence. He denied hitting the victim but admitted to pulling her hair and taking the child’s birthday money. After speaking with two of the victim’s children law enforcement placed Young under arrest for domestic abuse assault third or subsequent offense, a class D felony.
