Dallas County Hospital is once again offering a class this month for those seeking to manage their type two diabetes.

The Diabetes Self-Management Classes are offered in both English and Spanish, with the former class taking place September 7th and the latter on September 14th. The focus of the program is to learn what diabetes is, how to diet and exercise, medications that can manage blood sugar levels, and complications to watch for. Above all, the purpose of the course is to help those dealing with diabetes in partnering with their physician in order to manage the illness. The classes will be held from 8 a.m. – noon on their respective days, in the second floor community room at Dallas County Hospital.

The cost to attend is $10 per person and registration is required. For more information or to sign up, contact Sally Swenson at 515-465-7512 for the English class, or Lupita Chavez at 515-465-7684 for the Spanish.
