The AC/GC volleyball team was able to keep a zero in the loss column with a come from behind victory Thursday.
The Chargers hit the road for the first time of the season to face Van Meter. AC/GC lost a tight first set 25-23, then couldn’t find their footing in the second falling 25-15. Head Coach Trevor Iwin tells Raccoon Valley Radio his team felt they were the better team despite their 2-0 deficit. After a quick pep-talk he saw the team relax and play closer to their teams skill level. AC/GC wasted no time keeping the match alive with a 25-20 win in set three. The Charges kept their momentum going winning set four 25-18, forcing a winner-take-all fifth set. With their foot on the gas pedal, AC/GC completed the rally winning 15-9 in the final set. The Chargers move to 2-0 on the early season.
They will take the court Tuesday as they host a quad against Atlantic, CAM, and East Union.
