A Webster City man faces felony charges for an incident in Greene County.
According to court documents, 28-year-old Logan Lee Staley was charged with two Class D Felonies for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. The charges stem from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s office that began on April 16th.
The incident took place in the 900 block of Harding Street in Churdan. It was reported that several items were missing from an unlocked machine shed on the property. The victim claimed that some electrical equipment, machining tools and hundreds to thousands of record albums were stolen. During the investigation, it was discovered that one of the missing items were sold at a pawn shop in Fort Dodge. An employee confirmed that Staley sold one of the items and had several records to sell.
The victim then contacted the sheriff’s office on June 17th to confirm some of the other stolen items were being sold by Staley to people the victim knew. Court documents show the victim met up with Staley, who gave back some of the other items.
Staley was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail, where he was later released on his own recognizance. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
