It’s Old Settlers Day at the Guthrie County Fair tomorrow, with free admission for all those 70 and older.
The festivities include a church service from the Guthrie Center Association of Churches in the grandstand, the 4-H and FFA cattle show, the 4-H Foundation pie auction, antique tractor corn shelling, a t-shirt quilt class, and much more. SESS Rangefinders 4-H Club Member Ruby Hummel says they will be promoting their club and teaching kids a new skill with a free archery booth from 1-7 p.m. “We have targets and the bows and obviously all of that and our goal is to basically spread the word about SESS Rangefinders and that our club has stuff involved with shooting, and it’s not as hard or as scary as you think it is. And also our club does way more than just shooting sports.”
Other events tomorrow include a monster arm wrestling competition, rabbit hopping, and figure 8 races at 7 p.m. at the grandstand. The 2020 Guthrie County Fair Queen will also be crowned at 6 p.m. Listen to Raccoon Valley Radio as we continue our daily live broadcast of the fair.
