Greene County cross-country coach Jeff Lamoureux saw his girls and boys run against some of the top Class 3A competition in Iowa at the Gilbert Invitational held Thursday on the Iowa State University course in Ames. The Rams were eleventh among 14 girls team in Class A and eleventh among 14 boys’ squads. The original results sent by meet officials were incorrect. The corrected results are below.
The top five girls for Greene County were led by Ashlee Harmeyer, who was 50th in 21:37 for the five kilometers (3.1 miles). Harmeyer was followed by Kassie Lamoureux, 51st in 21:38, Makala Kafer, 72nd in 22:29, Autumn Stevens, 77th in 22:41, and Olivia Shannon, 78th in 22:46.
Logan Woodruff led the Greene County boys in 17:50, good for 46th place. Luis Velazco ran 17:57, which was 53rd. Connor Brus was 59th in 18:05. Dakota Mobley finished 70th in 18:28, with Ethan Larsen 71st in 18:29.
Ballard (Huxley) won the team title for girls with Dallas Center-Grimes second. The boys’ title went to DC-G with Norwalk second.
