After last year’s 1-8 season, the DC-G Mustangs open up the 2019 season tonight against the same team that last year’s Mustangs opened against; the Pella High School Little Dutch.
The result of that game was not favorable to Dallas Center-Grimes, as Pella shutout the Mustangs, 28-0. Not to mention, Pella was 8-2 last season.
But, with that being said, that was then and this is now.
DC-G Head Coach, Scott Heitland and his assistants have been hard at work during the off season, working with their team in off season workouts and year-round training. It’s now time to see what the off season effort does for the DC-G Football team on the field.
The Mustang offense will be lead by Ty Walker and Garrett Morris at QB. Those two split time last year under center, and will again tag-team the lead role in the DC-G offensive attack. Both Morris and Walker are Juniors this season.
Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7:30pm start in Pella. Be listening to KDLS and K107.9 for updates on the score and results, as well as raccoonvalleyradio.com. Tune into Monday night’s Dallas County PM Sports Page from 6:00 to 7:00pm as we sit down and chat with Scott Heitland, DC-G Head Football Coach, and get his reaction on the Pella game, as well as look ahead to next week at Norwalk.
