After last season’s State Tournament run and the loss of many Seniors in 2018, Head Coach Cheryl Voelker, and her Dallas Center-Grimes Volleyball squad opened the season on Tuesday night hosting the DC-G Invitational.
A relatively young roster for DC-G this season looked nothing like a young team. In fact, the Fillies looked like seasoned veterans, and a team that will be tough to beat.
ADM, Des Moines Roosevelt, Southeast Polk, and Urbandale, Algona, Fort Dodge, and Gilbert all made the trip to DC-G High School on Tuesday for competition. DC-G went 4-0 on the evening, downing Fort Dodge, Gilbert, Urbandale, and Des Moines Roosevelt in dominating fashion. The Fillies won eight of the nine games they played, and handled their opponents easily.
The strong start for the Fillies is a welcome sight, as DC-G has set their expectations high for this fall, following the State Tournament run last season.
DC-G Volleyball is back in action at home on Tuesday hosting Newton in Grimes with a 5:00pm start time.
