The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with the Council approving an agreement with gWorks for utility billing internet and utility billing e-bill for approximately $2,500, with an annual software fee of $1,185 for customers to pay their utility bill. The Council then discussed building permit fees relating to extensions and expired permits, as the City doesn’t currently have a policy for giving permit extensions. The Council directed City Administrator Lisa Grossman to draft a policy for their next meeting, and the Council then approved giving a permit extension for the property at 421 Northeast 2nd Street until the end of October with a $100 fee.

The Council then approved a first reading for a violation civil penalty of $100 to be added to the fireworks ordinance. The Council waived the second and third readings and adopted the ordinance change. Finally, Council member Rachel Vogel submitted her resignation to be effective at the end of this month citing a move out of the City, and the Council agreed to discuss what to do with her vacant seat at the next regular meeting.
