The Adel City Council convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting started with discussion on the pole sign moratorium, with possible action to be taken at the Council meeting in October to either remove or maintain the sign restrictions. In new business, the Council discussed but took no action on the future of the Economic Development Commission. Council members Bob Ockerman and Jodi Selby, as well as Mayor Jim Peters and City Administrator Anthony Brown will discuss the fate of the Commission in a committee, and will come back with a recommendation at the October meeting. The Council also tabled action regarding allocating budgeted funds from the Economic Development Commission to the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce.
The sole action item that was approved on the agenda was a resolution on annexation procedures. The Council also had discussion on an annexation request north of City limits, with the proposal to be crafted into a resolution for consideration at the meeting in September.
