The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.
The meeting began with proposals from architecture firms FRK Architects + Engineers and CMBA Architects on designing a new weight room facility. Topics that were discussed included where this addition could be built, what kind of materials would they use, and whether this facility would be open to community use. FRK’s timeline stated that the high school could “move in” to this new facility in August of 2020, while CMBA predicted a completion date of December 2020. The Board tabled action on choosing an architect and directed Superintendent Dennis McClain to obtain more information on financing for the project. Finally, the Board approved whole grade sharing expenditures and personnel changes.
