A new arts and crafts trend is growing in popularity, and it will be the focus of this month’s Lifelong Learners Coffee, sponsored by the Perry Public Library.

This Monday, the public is invited to the Carnegie Library Museum for a free workshop on “Needle Felting.” The guest fiber artist will be Kay Weishaar who will demonstrate the process, which includes techniques such as wool roving, curls, and batting. She will also talk about the equipment she uses and share some of her creations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experiment with wool and felting needles on a simple project.

The event will be held at 9 a.m. on August 26th. It’s free to attend, registration is not required, and refreshments will be provided. To learn more about this and other upcoming events, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569.
