While it’s still technically summer for another month, the City of Dexter is ushering in the cooler weather of autumn with their annual Fall Festival.
The celebration will take place throughout today and tomorrow at various locations around the City. Activities for today include: the fishing contest at Beaver Lake; a 5K fun run; the “Kiddie Parade” and “Grand Parade”; kids games, water fights, and other activities; and cribbage and bags tournaments. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a display opening at the Dexter Roundhouse celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 20th Century Club. Also at that time, the City will recognize the Citizen of the Year and the winner of the pie baking contest. That will be followed by the pie and cupcake auction and the community potluck.
The festivities will continue tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. with the combined church services and brunch event at the Roundhouse, as well as the co-ed softball game. For a complete list of events for the Dexter Fall Festival, click the link below.
