To kick-start a new school year and the fall sports season, the Greene County Activities Booster Club sponsored a community pep rally Thursday night on the downtown square in Jefferson.

The evening started off with the fall Ram cheerleaders with the younger kids with the mini-cheerleading camp, leading the crowd in several cheers. Then Doug Rieder served as the emcee and he introduced the volleyball team, followed by the cheerleaders, cross country teams, girls’ swimming, band and color guard and finally the football team.

Booster Club Member and Co-organizer Abby McConnell talked about the fun atmosphere in preparation for a new fall sports and activities season.

“It’s a beautiful night up on the square. It’s great to see so many people out here showing their Ram spirit, especially the day before school starts. I think that everyone is just super excited and you can feel the energy out here. So we’re excited for a great year with all of our Ram activities.”

Prior to the start of the pep rally, the student activity groups hosted contests and other fun things for kids that attended. To see photos from the event, check out our Facebook page.
