Greene County residents are invited to a public open house this Sunday at the new location of the Action Resource Center (ARC) food pantry.

The open house will be from 6:30-7:45pm at 1006 North Vine Street. The food pantry officially opened its doors to clients on May 29th. Since that time, First Baptist Church Reverend Devin Wolters, who is also part of the Greene County Clergy Association with ARC, says the building has been fully paid off, with donations and other financing support. He says it’s been a long time coming for a new location of the food pantry and Sunday is a chance to celebrate that accomplishment with the community.

“The whole hope is just to praise and worship God. This community has been very influential in allowing us to serve people. They’ve been hugely supportive financially. They’ve given a lot of their time as well. We’ve seen so many people put out this vision and Greene County has accepted it. They’ve run with it, they’ve loved it, and they’ve put together a beautiful building to make sure that people are getting served.”

Wolters will lead a dedication service at 6:30pm, and then attendees can get tours of the interior of the building and enjoy refreshments.
