Greene County goes to Lake City tomorrow morning for volleyball scrimmages at South Central Calhoun High School. Ram head coach Chris Heisterkamp told Raccoon Valley Radio she’s seen some really good things so far in practice from the girls. “If you saw what was going on in practice, you’d be going ‘Holy Smoke, this is great!’ Where we’re maybe lacking is in consistency. We’ll have those bright, shining moments where we really have it going, and then, we just aren’t consistent yet.”
The coach added sometimes the angle is an issue, but she said, “We’re getting better at reading the angle. You have to turn your body a lot to get the ball to go where you want it to go, and if you’re not quick, you have to be a really quick thinker, and we’re getting there.”
Scrimmage time for the Rams in Lake City tomorrow is 9 a.m. The regular season opens on Tuesday, Aug. 27 in Jefferson at the middle school gym vs. Collins-Maxwell and Glidden-Ralston at 5 p.m.
