Greene County has 16 boys and 14 girls out for high school cross-country. Head Coach Jeff Lamoureux has twin daughters, Kassie and Kirsten, on the girls’ team. Kassie talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about her goals for her senior cross-country season. “Well, last year I earned a couple of medals, so it would be nice to do that again, and, hopefully get in shape for basketball, too.”
Earning a personal record, or PR, is something many runners aspire to, and Lamoureux was asked about that. “It’s always nice to PR, especially since this is my last year. My PR is 22:36 (for 3.1 miles), so it would be nice to get under that.”
The Rams open the season on Monday, Aug. 26 at the Jester Park Golf Course for the Woodward-Granger Invitational, then have a short turnaround before running on Aug. 29 in Ames on the Iowa State University course for the Gilbert Invitational.
