Wednesday, August 21st

12:25am: Carroll County advised of a Speeding Driver on 220 th Street heading towards Jefferson on 220th Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

8:11am: Durlam Electric reported someone had broken a light on the skid loader parked at 1108 North Elm Street. They advised the officer of a young boy found in the parking lot several times lately. The officer spoke to a juvenile and his mother at 304 West Head Street. The boy admitted to playing on the private property, but would not admit to breaking the light on the skid loader. The officer advised the youngster and his mother if he returns to the property, he may face a Trespassing charge.

11:40am: An officer conducted a Funeral Escort.

1:46pm: A Traffic Stop performed at Elm and Stanford Streets resulted in Mary Jane Roper of Churdan being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

1:50pm: Tim Cadden reported hearing a loud fireworks being set off near Cedar and Russell Streets. The officers did not locate anything in the area.

4:59pm: Jennifer Ashby requested an officer at 108 East Central #66 to report her adult daughter had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The officer learned the crime had occurred in Des Moines and had been reported to them. No action was required by the Jefferson officer.

5:04pm: Cassie Fowler spoke to an officer about a neighbor feeding stray cats in the 300 Block of Rushview Drive. The animals are constantly on Fowler’s property. The officer advised Fowler she can remove the stray cats herself, but the PD does not currently offer this service.

5:56pm: A caller advised of vehicles blocking the alley by Moe’s Mart at 303 North Elm Street. The officer learned the vehicles belong to workers at a Vending Truck parked at the business. He advised the workers that the alley has to remain open and can not be blocked at any time.

6:17pm: Craig Burbank advised of a Speeding Driver heading west on 220th Street towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

6:17pm: Debra Curtis reported receiving what she felt where Harassing Text Messages from a Jefferson female. The officer spoke to the female about the issue and both parties were advised to end all contact with the other.

7:26pm: An officer spoke to a juvenile at Washington Park after witnessing the youth throw a can at the park fence. The fence was not damaged, but the officer warned the youth about this behavior and spoke to his parent.
