The 2019 Panorama volleyball team has big shoes to fill if they’re going to continue the success the team had last year.

In the first season under new head coach Jessica Nail, the team went 17-12 breaking the school’s record for most wins in a season. The season came to an end in the regional quarter-finals after a five-set battle against Earlham. The 2019 team hopes to keep the success going, but new faces will have to step up to do that. Eight Panthers graduated from the historic 2018 team.

Only four girls on the roster were on the varsity team last season, incoming seniors Maggie Woodvine, Lindsey Van Gundy, and junior Grace Richey. Senior Payton Douglas will also be looking to boost the team late in the season. Nail tells Raccoon Valley Radio she hopes to return to the court mid-September as she’s recovering from a torn ACL.

The new-look Panthers will hit the court Thursday for a scrimmage at the WCAC Varsity Jam.
